history books

In light of this election and the great injustice done to many gay families i want to talk a bit about history and how its recorded. This is nation of free people and it is built on a tradition of personal liberty and equality.

Chapter headings in history books do NOT read: "the day we worked really hard to keep things exactly the same." (however, the dollars spent on this one will likely be listed in a side bar!) The Chapter titles highlight moments in our world's history when we made a massive break-through, when we righted a terrible wrong, when we took a giant step forward for all mankind.

This election is one more step in the progress of civil rights. It is not definitive and it will be over-ruled. People eventually come to understand that it is not good for their own hearts to judge others. We must treat others as we wish to be treated, in every case.

We've yet to finish the chapter on gay marraige in the subject study: Civil RIGHTS!
